Lots to ponder

The work of Susan Meiseles gave me a lot to ponder. She has stayed for long periods of time (years), with specific peoples, and made records that have given back a whole lot to the communities. She did a project with the Kurds, that looks like an amazing labor of love. It is at : akakurdistan.com A quote of hers: "We take pictures and we don't bring them back" I know that the work I want to do is about being a visual voice for the people with whom I work; whether it is the disenfranchised, or cultures around the world, or the elderly, or single moms.... I know of the power of pictures, and for that reason, I am also leaning towards documentary film making...
